Creating a new dedicated thread to discuss the shipping methods, rumors, and tracking. Some of the information is scattered throughout, and I am having a difficult time finding the answers to my questions.
1. Will they split east coast and west coast shipments? If not, how will the cars be transported from coast to coast?
2. What shipping company is being used, and will we be able to track the ETA/delays?
3. Once the RS is released for shipping, how often will they be shipped?
4. Of the 5 port of entries (Baltimore, Halifax, Hueneme, Jacksonville, Newark), which one is the RS most likely to land at?
***Rumors Below***
Supposedly, the first ship will leave on/around March 18th- posted in the Order Status thread by a member
So if anyone has some spare time I'm curious if mine has made it on a boat. Ford Service on Facebook just says a generic answer of "in transit" VIN WF0DP3TH7G4114366
According to our FMC sites yes you are in transit, but the actual meaning of that in your case is that your vehicle was "shipped from plant". This then means you are either at the port now or on a truck/train to the port. I would go with at the port since it was updated April 18th.
How did you get the VIN's that were loaded on that ship? Every where i look it says that Grand Legacy does not report its contents. I would love to see if mine made it on that ship.
There is a pattern emerging concerning North American shipping. If the second round of shipping follows the first, we should see an east coast bound ship leave approximately one week after the Tiger. The Thalatta (May 1st) fits the bill nicely. Hopefully the tracking will show up for east coast cars soon, it didn't for the Tiger. If not, the Ford system looks like it starts reporting once the cars are on the ship (or sooner?) as we saw with the Tiger.
Ill be posting pictures. I only live 20 mins at max away from the port. A friend of mine works there and said they may not unload today due to they would have to pay triple time but ill be down there regardless.
