I had compustar in the past on my Evo IX.
If you had remote start before, it's easy to adapt.

But remote start is amazing. Nothing like getting into your car with the climate already set (heat on if it's cold plus seat/SW heater if you have them, AC on if it's hot), and engine/oil almost to temp before even moving. I miss remote start on my forester/STI...
And remote start on manual is not an issue if the car has a neutral sensor. You hook that up to the alarm brain and have it fail to start if it does not sense the car is in neutral. That's how I set it up when I installed the 1 mile range compustar in those cars.
