Well to get the info contained in my last post, I took a US bound VIN and entered it into Ford's website to get the applicable manual. So I'm willing to bet spec WSS-M2C931-C is the correct spec for the Mk3 Focus RS.

You're up, Professor.
Still speculation. Professor?

The supplement is North America specific. If there are country specific specs then they specify that (eg. they specify two different coolants). For oil there is only one spec. It's Fords current high performance spec.

The current spec for the RS IS: WSS-M2C937-A. 0w40. This oil is specific to the RS at this time.

Now show which RS year and engine that is for.
A simple search of this forum would answer your question. Are there any other Focus RS manuals online? I honestly don't know, but the info I provided is pertaining to the 2016 RS.
Hint: it's a sticky

You are referring to the UK manual. Here is the US manual. It is what people have been trying to tell you.

Also look at this for a reference chart from Ford Motocraft.

I understand there are 2 spec manuals, US and Euro. I also understand the difference between US spec lubricants and Euro spec lubricants. In that lyes the difference. I still believe we should wait til we get a production model on US soil before choosing the proper oil. I don't think it's actually set in stone as of yet. It is my belief (speculation) the viscosity spec of the US model will be reduced from 5w50 in order to improve CAFE rating. We will see. In the meantime you guys have a ball, I'm just waiting on a car. Cheers!

That spec is specific to the 2.5L i5 engine in the MkII RS. As I stated pages back, it was merely a placeholder in the draft form of the MkIII RS supplement.

Now that the revised supplement is out you would think that Ford would have killed the URL for the draft supplement, but it is still accessible via the link that you took a screenshot of.

I understand your point regarding CAFE standards, but the RS is from Ford Performance and they have been spec'ing 5w50 for all their cars as shown by that Motorcraft table.

That may be 5W50 for all in NA. The specs for EU market may very. Would not be the only difference between various markets. I'll wait and see.

To be honest, I've always had the best luck just taking my car into either Ford or Subaru with a purchased extended warranty. They do it, it's the oil according to the owners manual, I don't heavily modify my cars (anymore), my driving habits aren't extreme, and if anything goes wonky, it's on them. My personal view is that this practice just eliminates the debate in my head about what is best to use.

Apartment living, lawyer's work hours, and driving habits go into my equation. Other's are going to definitely differ in opinion and practice. This is just how I roll, but I do miss the cathartic feeling of changing my own oil. Oh well.

Didn't see mileage intervals for suggested oil change's, but didn't click every link either. Way too many new cars come with pathetically long intervals...my wife's Mini Countryman All 4 S was 15k miles...or annually. The damn thing only holds a wisker over 4 qts, and for a turbo, that is nuts. Audi used to suggest 7500 miles for the old 1.8T, I still did every 3k...wonder why we didn't have any coking problems?

So, what's Ford say? If it's anymore than 5k miles with full synthetic...Ill be well above warranty requirements.

And pages back...did I see someone reference Zinc was needed in the oil-Zn? Zinc is a huge issue in the air cooled Porsche world, since many manufacturers(Mobil 1) have changed their formulas in the last decade..
