Both will be more "track oriented" compared to the st. Well se what happens.
What about a Ranger Raptor for the USA?
They are planning on bringing it, but I dont believe itll have the desiel engine. The USA ranger is closer to structural design to the ranger raptor, than it is to the international ranger. I might just become 350hp, 350tq. Ford doesnt want to deal with all the extra test they would need to do for that engine when itll be in one vehicle.

Like if Hyundai released a new hot hatch comparable to the current RS MK3 do you think people would jump for it? Is the MK# popularity based on it being a Ford or based on it being an awesome car? Just wondering.

I feel like the popularity is based on it being a fun car in the US. Europeans have had more of a legacy of RS so it makes sense for them to be more about the brand. And yeah, the Veloster is freaking awesome-looking. It has some crazy trick eLSD on the front and it looks pretty cool imo. I think an AWD version of it could be a cool unicorn. Even the FWD version sounds pretty neat and appears to brings some cool adjustable features and said trick eLSD with it.

Personally I don't think I got the RS because of the Ford brand. The RS badging was a factor because of the European legacy, it being a first of a kind in the US is another factor. Otherwise I feel like there are also not a lot of options out there, and in 2016 it was basically this or the STi for me, and the RS was more interesting. I was actually holding out for the Civic Type R, but after they announced they would not be bringing the Euro FK2 model over I stopped being as interested, plus the arrival was pushed back a good couple of years.

Would be super-cool to see an AWD Veloster because it would be a great third option between Golf R and STi.

I loathe Fords, and I bought one. It's the car for me, not the brand. FWIW, I had a Veloster Turbo, and wanted AWD and more power. I'd go back in a second if they made one.

I too was holding out for Subaru to release a great sti but nothing zip nadda in 2016. Even today, it's fallen behind the 8 ball.
The RS styling even today, is awesome - aggressive; aero and balanced if a tad chubby.

Sad to see what has happened to Subaru.

Seriously! The EJ engine is what, 15 years old? In addition, say what you will for gas mileage in performance cars, most turbo'd engines like ours or the Type R get really good highway mileage - no such luck with the STi rated at 17city/21 highway. I think the latest facelift actually looks pretty good as they've made it a bit more aggressive, but the rest of the car needs an update. I'm hoping maybe 2021. Figure if 2020 was going to be something interesting they would've already shown it off, but instead they keeping making these one-off limited edition runs like the 2020 S209

Subaru is trying their hardest to keep the boxer alive, like Mazda and the spinning dorito of death(rotary engine), but I've heard rumors of a super charged v6 going into the next gen wrx. Like Porsche has redesigned their boxer and moved away from flat 4 due to reliability and vibration issues.
