OCT 30, 2020 Update:
Hi All, sorry about taking so long for an update but with quarantine I had some extra time and realized the old app did not work on my new GALAXY S10 anymore.
Thanks for all the feedback. Enjoy now that the temps are dropping there will be some TPMS warnings!

*LINK FOR UPDATED VERSION TO WORK WITH ANDRIOD 10+ *

I found a small issue in testing, please use this update to avoid BT connection issues

Hi All,

Just wanted to share an ANDRIOD app that I created for OBD BT interface. It was mainly done to reveal the individual tire pressures for the FORD FOCUS RS since it does not come with that feature - only a single warning light. This will work on most newer FORD vehicles as well.

There is also a generic OBD-ELM327 terminal interface where you can send custom commands and monitor the raw CAN data messages.

You will need an ODB BT dongle such as : OBDLink® LX Bluetooth | OBDLink® | OBD Solutions
or Konnwei KW902 OBDII ELM327 Adapter
Konnwei no longer recommended due to quality issue with CAN termination resistor causing device to put vehicle in limp home mode. Devices purchased on or after March 2017 are suspect - please check yours if you bought one

Here is the apk link for download (v1): OBD4RS.apk

Here is the link to the V2.0 app that adds the tire temp and some other improvements:
OBD4RS.apk

Note you will need change settings on your device to allow installs from files.

Let me know if you find this useful.

Happy New Year and Enjoy!

March 23 Update:

After much testing, I finally have the v3.0 ready for release. I added the AWD screen for torque and temps and general stability and appearance improvements. If you find it useful, buy me a coffee!

Got an OBLinkMX, paired with phone, torque pro and the OBLink App sees it, the OBD 4 RS doesn't, just keeps searching

Is that because I have not registered yet ( sent off for key before I typed this )

The un registered version should still connect and work.

Make sure you exit the Torque app and close it - Torque stays active in the background. The first time you connect it with the OBD 4 RS you need to press the pair button on the OBDLINKMX since it does not broadcast unless you do that. After this first time it will reconnect without needing to press the pair button.

Can anyone explain to me the pro or cons of the OBDLink LX VS. OBDLink MX

#42 ·
From OBDLink's Website, I got the MX because it fully supports Ford

For the registration, it is free just add that you are from the FOCUSRS forum and add your username. If the app is well received I may take the effort and time to place it on the Google Play store.

Thanks for the app.

Worked great on my Note 4 but my new Pixel XL gives the following error message: “Parse error – there is a problem parsing the Package”

Enabled USB Debugging but 3rd party apps enable window does not come up.

Any suggestions?

I have not seen or heard that before. I would try dowloading the apk file again to make sure it is complete. Also restart your phone just in case. Did you allow installs from 3rd party in the security section?

#73 ·
That is progress. Each phone needs a unique key. Not sure if you requested 2 but you would need to do that.

#76 ·
I would consider this in future if I could justify the expense. I would need to get some wifi dongles since apple does not support the BTSPP. In the meantime I suugest you buy a used Galaxy S3 since you would not need a cell plan or a buy a galaxy tab7.

I bought the cheap orange one and it messed my car up while plugged in. Started shutting down my awd and, couldn't turn car off and few others things

#81 ·
That is strange. See if it works with the Torque Lite or Forscan app.

I have heard the Vgate brand works well but I have not used this type. I see on amazon that this did work with Torque app so good chance it will be elm327 compliant.
