Last time I played, was F1 2017. I have an extensive background in simulations games (all of the famous' ones), and It felt ....like disconnected to me.
I have a few friends that tried F1 2018 and they told me they were MUCH happier in terms of how it feels (realism-wise), but in the end, F1 series is geared towards general public and not the hard-core simulator audience. Having said that, you can still struggle quite a bit to drive if you want to go full realism of course.
This year, depending on the price or if I can get a good discount, I might try this series again to see how much it improved. Codemasters knows how to do games, that's for sure.
(My current go-to driving games are Project CARS 2 and Dirt Rally 2.0)
