Because some video out of china with no information or context? A country trying to push their own electric cars, that would love to discredit tesla? Ok..... These batteries do not just burst into flames on their own, the driver most likely hit something prior to parking and punctured them. Which is impressive itself considering the armor tesla has on them. And it wasn't plugged in, so it's not like they overcharged the batteries, not that I see that happening with the protections telsa has on the car to prevent that.

I just fundamentally don't like electric cars! nothing against Tesla specifically. I won't buy any EV. and your response solidifies my opinion even more. lol.

Not sure why, have you driven in one? They are stupid fast accelerating. If I could have 2 cars, my second would be a 3 for daily city driving. Not sure what in my post solidified anything about a decision to buy a tesla/EV. Any hit that could damage the under-tray of a tesla enough to puncture the batteries would do major damage to any car, regardless of ICE or EV. We're talking large chunks of cinderblocks or something. I mean, our cars undertray is basically heavy duty cardboard that can't even handle some snow lol....

Oh, and I'm still an ICE fan and love big loud muscle cars. Hell if I didn't have kids I would have went with a 350R over the RS because that is a sexy beast. I'm just a fan of performance EVs too.

TBH I had a truck battery explode near my face many years ago. I was lucky and only had minor injuries but i'm really paranoid around batteries now. It's probably not a fair comparison , it's just me. They just freak me out a little... actually a lot.

It's fine man. If you're afraid of em because of the batteries or you just don't like EV's it's honestly just a personal choice. I'm keeping my RS for life, but I do plan on getting a Tesla 3 or S as a daily driver because gas is getting crazy again and after test driving the Tesla, it's hard to discredit it. But he's not wrong though. Alot of cars and even Super Cars are starting to go EV or at least some kind of Hybrid. So sooner or later you'll be driving one thing or another with a larger battery than you're used to. ( then again, the large battery already in our RS is too big already >.> )
