    They did lots of things to make it faster. It was on non-stock tires, had air-con stripped out “to compensate for the weight of the roll cage” and had a “pre-production” engine tune. Honda refuses to give specs.

    Comparing Honda’s manufacturer time of 7:43.8 to Sport Auto Magazine’s RS time of 8:06.3 is definitely apples-to-oranges. Unfortunately Sport Auto hasn’t run the new CTR and Ford won’t do an official RS time.

    However can look at the last gen FK2 CTR because Honda used it to do a 7:50.6 and Sport Auto used it to do an 8:15 which is 5% slower. If we assume that a Sport Auto time in the new CTR would also be 5% slower than the manufacturer time, then that would put it at 8:7.8 which is slightly slower than they were able to run the RS.

    That’s pretty consistent with a lot of track comparisons to the RS. The RS is faster by a small margin; so small that it ends up being the driver that makes the most difference.

    Test drove one recently, I dont like it, it honestly feels nimble, but at the same time it feels large and heavy, kinda like a gtr. When it is wet, the torque steer trus to break your wrist on a hard acceleration, it is quiet af. At full throttle you can kinda hear the engine, but you really hear the turbo whistle, and idk if the rear wing even has an downforce effect, it literally flops on every bump like it is nothing.
