Whats with the Janky plastic crap behind the rear view mirror?

Is anyone elses's loose AF? I can wiggle mine around and its annoying the crap out of me.

I have a standing appt with the dealer next week so I can bring up any issues discovered, so I'll present it then.

But just curious if anyone else has the the plastic behind their rear view mirror all loose and generally unattached.

I know its covering some kind of electronics, but not sure what. The light sensor is at the bottom of the dash dead center, so not sure what is behind the mirror.

honestly I just grip the wheel and drive. I did notice that there wasn't much holding it up there
Keeping it pinned down while all cylinders are -6 is not good practice

Money comes and goes, RS don't.
Dude your life is also ticking away.
Buy th damn car and mod away.

The ST is an ST that's all it will ever be.

someone must know whats behind it.
I know on euro cars its for the auto sensing wipers among other crap, but we get none of it, so whatever it normally clicks into probably isnt there anymore

That would explain why there is what looks like a cable management at the top pointing towards the head-liner.

Fail. I'll bring it up to the dealer and see if they can do anything to fix it up there better. If they can't I'm going to ask that it be removed or glued in place somehow.

Ford does this because it's cheaper to use the same parts on the production line (instead of a different front windshield). The dealership can't/won't do anything about this. Accept and move on.

Nope, not accepting it. Not moving on. $40,000+ is what we paid. If I have to I will make the dealer glue a boss up there so the plastic trim can be screwed into it.

Its something that Ford should have addressed considering how much money we are spending on these cars.
JordanByrne, Boxflycat and Ankah like this.

I don't think Ford is going to care how much you spent. I'm almost willing to bet they will say it's normal.

I was thinking a piece of foam could be pushed in behind to stop it moving. Mine doesn't even stay centered over the black portion of the windshield, it's so loose.
