New tire and windshield, still under 1,000 miles

    Hello all,

I just had to share some of my rotten luck with my 2017 Focus RS. I bought the car in March as my second car/fun car. It's never been daily driven, as I park in a crap garage for work. At 500 miles, I picked up a jagged piece of metal in the left rear tire, and needed a full replacement. Now at 750 miles, a rock caused a 10 inch long crack right in front of the steering wheel on the windshield. Thankfully it's covered totally by insurance. I still have to think this is some record for bad luck before hitting the 1,000 mile mark. Someone give me a hug. Thanks.

I feel your pain. But you can take solace in the fact that you aren't even close to the record. Statistically, you are likely to have a nice long run of good luck. Best.

Seems like good luck to me, bad luck would be having the same stuff happen but having to pay for it...

Cheer up, don't sweat the small stuff.

I had almost perfect black paint on my RS until a wind storm knocked off an asphalt roof shingle from next door. It bounced and flopped on my hood, like it was break dancing. The hood (to me anyway) looks like someone took an angle grinder to it. It ruined a near perfect mirror finish. Others have a hard time seeing it, but not me. I've learned to live with it. I'll get it fixed when there are more things to have repaired all at once. No point in multiple trips to the paint and body shop.

Other than that, I drive and enjoy my RS every time I get behind the wheel.

Also... At least you're not this guy.

A screw and me not catching it killed one of my winters in the first 120 miles of ownership....... I have to pay for this one.
Take everything I post with an MDOT truckload of salt.
