Just wanted to follow up on this.. I did decide to have Ford cover the repainting on my car. THANKS SO MUCH for the recommendations for Craft Detailing in Dedham, MA. Kevin was beyond awesome and spent hours working on the car, eventually recommending repainting for the hood, driver-side door, and roof. He was able to get the mark out of the front bumper with a heat gun, and Mike from Mikes Autobody of Malden was able to work with me on the rest. Just got the car back this weekend, and I remembered how much I love it. Hard to believe that the base Focus sedan (my loaner from Imperial Ford) comes from the same genetic stock. A+ work, A+ customer service.

I received my 2016 back in Decemeber and didn't notice the paint defects I had until 3 weeks ago when I gave it a thorough washing out in the bright sun. I bought mine out of state and took it to a local dealer's body shop. They took pictures of the hood. Mine also had that faded white looking water spot. Mine is on passenger side just under the windshield washer spout. It was was an odd shaped circle. There was also a near perfect circle which I hadn't even noticed on the driver side, that looked almost like it was burnt during detailing. The car has never been detailed and the dealer didn't detail it either. Since this was never noticed before, could it just be the heat from the engine causing the defective paint to show up with the heat from a car that is now being driven, versus sitting in a port for two months at various locations?

Luckily Ford is going to repaint the hood under warranty. I didn't seem to notice any other spots other than the hood.

While cleaning mine over the past week, I've noticed some weirdness with the paint on the roof and a couple spots on the drivers side rear door. The spots on the side are dull and a little rough almost like overspray or a botched polish job or something. I'm getting it detailed next month (mostly to remove scratches) and I'm going to ask the guy if he can fix any of it. It's not so bad that I want to deal with getting it repainted but if he can fix it that would be nice.
