Firstly welcome to the forums.
Secondly there has been thousands of posts related to this part.
Thirdly this part acts as a sound barrier allowing ford to make this car European compliant for noise.
Fourthly it has been found much to the detriment to many people in colder climates that when driving in winter conditions this part fills up with snow and ends up breaking and or drooping nearly to the ground. Ford at this time has not issued a fix and I have seen everything from "its the nature of the vehicle" to people getting brand new ones when theirs breaks. There are aftermarket replacements available to the tune of $300-400 but it is questionable as to if this would violate the warranty.
