Well gues what I got a flat tire on the way to work in the worst part of town this evening. Guess what else the fix a flat sh*t didn't help in the slightest especially when you have a 3 inch tear on the inside of your sidewall. I could get it to hold about 20psi and drive a few miles and repeat till I got to work. The ford dealership is just down the street and I'll get a rollback tow truck to pick me up in the morning. Makes me glad I purchased the tire protection package now.

Better put a jack/lug wrench in there too, and confirm the jacking point for each wheel.

Let me know what they say about the tire protection, if they cover it...

I got a screw in my tire like a week into ownership of my Fiesta ST, brought it in because I had the warranty, and they wouldn't cover it. Said nails and screws and punctures of that sort were not covered under the warranty, only defaults of the tire itself >< This was not an additional coverage package I purchased though, so perhaps whatever it is you paid extra for will cover ya, I hope so and will be crossing my fingers for you!

yes it did exactly what you said. Here is a link to the Conti mobility kit informational site which has a Nice video to watch. ContiMobilityKit

The only thing they failed to mention is that when this happens and you're in a bad part of town how you explain to all the people that come begging for money what to tell them. I told them I just spent all my money on this car you're looking at so therefore I have no more LOL.

Also guys and gals a little informative information about the bottle that screws into the compressor well it locks itself in there so it seems like it will not come out. The only thing I can think of is they want you to believe this is a one time use device so you will buy a new kit. This is not the case so if you have to use the bottle it will come out with a little effort, unfortunately prices for the bottle of goo are not that cheap somewhere around $60 US dollars. Here are couple of after pictures of the compressor and bottle.

As you can see I ripped off some of the locking Teeth so it can be used again.

@moby2112

Sorry to hear about your experience with the flat tire and Ford's solution for the problem. This is something that's bound to happen to many of us and I appreciate you taking the time to inform the rest of us. I had a similar incident with my wife's MCA that left her on the roadside during one of her road trips. No spare, similar gear, and a cut in the sidewall of the tire. Called Ford's Roadside Assistance, towed to Walmart, purchased a tire to get her back on the road. Once making it back home, I purchased her another rim and tire to be a full spare and found a jack kit from a wrecking yard. Strangest thing, ever since haven't had any further incidents.

I am interested in this as wheels and tires are always an issue with me around here. These roads are absolute $hite because of the winters. So it was 430 for the 7 years unlimited mile protection?

Be interested to hear recos on small jacks when someone finds something. I was initially planning on wrapping one of my my winter wheels in the trunk, before I realized there was no jack!

Have you gents gone soft?

The number of flats an average user encounters are pretty slim odds. (I can't remember the last time?)

Might I suggest bringing tire plugs?

I also believe we have free roadside assistance, and my insurance provides it also.

I'd rather they didn't include the spare, for weight and performance. A few other of my performance cars also didn't come with it.

5 years road side assistance from Ford on all RSs I hear, I know my manual has a card for that with it. Should include a tow since there is no spare I would think.

My Dash phone runs on AT&T, my personal phone runs on Sprint, T-Mo and US Cellular (Google Fi) and I have a Verizon Hotspot.... If I don't have coverage, I'm likely where I should not be.

Unfortunately this just happened to me yesterday. Ran over a large pothole just after leaving work and got a big gash on the sidewall. I was in rural east county San Diego so I was really hoping the goo kit that came with the car would be enough for the 45 miles drive home. Fortunately it did get me home.

Pics below of the tire and gash after I got home.

This is my Worst Nightmare. :sour:

Spare Tire seems like a good idea!
Any suggestions on size/rim or full blow another set forged/cup.

I've had a few flats in my day. Here in Michigan roads are horrible and I've been a victim of this more than I care to of been. What scares me is that the RS will have the lowest profile tire that I've ever driven on a regular basis. Therefore, what I have been thinking about is 2 backup methods. 1st is a tire plug patch kit for those smaller tread punctures. Obviously I'll have to keep a set of pliers on hand too to pull out the "nail". Second is a spare tire (doughnut or space saver type / size) and the appropriate sized spacer so that it fits. Of course since my RS isn't here yet.......I have some time to work out the spacer dimensions.

I kept the LV ST/XR5 space saver I bought when I had my MK2 RS....it fits the back only (you should never run a space saver on the front anyway) and given we don't have the boot floor mounted sub in Australian RS's, the space saver fits perfectly under the floor with the larger section of the foam insert removed. I also have a Subaru scissor jack and a cross wheel brace.

Does anyone know how to order a new bottle of the Contimobilitykit 450mL? I hit a pothole in Denver in the middle of a road trip and had to use mine. Luckily the temporary fix allowed me to crawl to my hotel. The part number on the bottle is BCP1-1568-AB, however I can't find it online and I am not sure the dealer has the correct part number. Thanks in advance.
