    I know in Seattle they have a crap ton as well close to 20, mix of both 2016 and 2017 selling at MSRP and some above for some reason...

    Still, I don't see why that would stop them. It's not like if M cars are selling way more.

    I have pics of them on my phone if anyone doesn't believe it. They only have a few on the main lot, the rest are in a line at one of their storage lots.

    Without knowing exactly what the German factory lines can and can't do, or, how expensively one of the other plants that currently make regular Foci might convert to or add RS production, I don't think we can simply conclude that the RS will be discontinued when the MKIV regular Focus goes into production. Some have mentioned M cars, which often stay in production for a year or two after the base model has been moved to a new version as an example of keeping higher performance models pf a previous generation's platform around while base and other trims are simultaneously produced on a newer platform. Subaru, of course, does this as well with their WRXs. We've had a new Impreza for better part of a year, but it will be at least two years or more before they do the WRX version on the new platform, and, in the meantime, WRXs will continue to be built on the old platform and sold. Indeed, with part sharing, etc. increasingly all the time, even platform changes can be less significant than they used to be.

    It may be that keeping the performance models around after a platform change is less typical for Ford, historically, but, neither has Ford sold any of the previous Foci RSs in the US. So, who knows? In any case, I tend to hope for more, not fewer, model years and more RSs sold, such that parts, after market, etc. etc continue to increase.

    What stops them is no tooling nor plant to build them. Once MK4 starts, that's it for MK3. I'm not sure you understand that the RS is built on the same line as are all other Focus at the Saarlouis plant in DE.

    and go down the line with the exact same parts as the regular Focus's.

    its only after they get taken off the line they get customized and mated with RS equipment

    My understanding is it's the same line, different sub-assemblies, but they aren't taken off the line and finished somewhere else.

    Yep, they are finished somewhere else, but still in the same plant

    it was in the video where I think James May went to help build one, it was after the firing of Clarkson, but before they went to Grand Tour, he stayed with the same RS through the whole assembly

    its not the James May Video.

    this entire series he host is building an RS start to finish. some videos have translation, some don't, but you will notice he is building the SG RS right next to other Foci including ST's

    but same thing, by Ford Performance Germany

    *Edit - according to these videos I am wrong, they put on the RS bits on the line, and finish more after its taken off the line, its a little bit different, its taken off the line in video 6. the james may video was earlier in production before they were even half capacity. because the date on these videos, I think these are full RS production capacity
