All,

As I have posted before my RS track performance at WGI this post includes my latest developments.
I’ll cut to the chase…. Results 2:11:34

RS Set up: The addition of my latest mod 19x9.5 +45 mm off set Avant Garde M610 Wheels
Toyo R888R 265/30/19 Tires. This was a 3.5 sec improvement over my prior best.
See post http://www.focusrs.org/forum/18-focus-rs-wheels-tires/70690-what-would-take-fit-19x9-5-wheel-5.html
Post #41 page 5

Complete Set up: 2016 RS with RS2 package- No sunroof
Engine: Tune (Adam Tune +), Catch Can. Engine oil cooler (Cool Tech) No other engine mods.
Brakes: Racing Brake RacingBrake 15" Track Duty Big Brake Kit for Ford Focus ST/RS 2011+ (2016+) (P/N 2564 & 2565)
With XC-40 front pads, GLoc 10 rear (see post http://www.focusrs.org/forum/29-foc...focus-rs-brakes/50257-brake-upgrade-option-focus-rs-offered-racingbrake-13.html
Post #124 page 13, Brake cooling see post http://www.focusrs.org/forum/29-focus-rs-brakes/43097-real-brake-rotor-cooling.html
Brake fluid Motul 660
Suspension: Ground Control Camber plates, GC/Eibach Springs; spring rates are 440 #/in front and 500#/in Rear, stock adjustable shocks.
Other: Pedal spacer (the thin one, Little CNC shop)
Alignment Front Camber -2.8 Will edit to add complete specs
Set-up Tire Pressures Cold Front 36, Rear 34. I adjust pressure to how much scrubbing I see on the side walls. Hot will get into the mid 40s (I could have dropped the pressures a little). I did check for uniform temp across the tread. Will edit to add pics
Reduced weight: I have the rear seat removed and a 6.4# Lithium battery. I will be scaling the car in the near future and will report on those results.
Driving mode: Track with shocks set to normal
Weather: Mixed; Rain, Wet Sunny and dry. Air Temps low 60s

Comments: HPDE 3 day event Friday Open Lapping advanced drivers only. Sat and Sun traditional run groups by skill.
Had rain-wet laps on both Friday and Sat as well as dry laps. Sunday dry laps all day. I was very pleased with this set up even in the rain / wet. I was very apprehensive with the Toyo R888R in the wet as I read they were terrible, but I was laps in the rain 2:39 and 2:16 in the wet. The car was a lot of fun in these conditions.

At this point I have the car to where I want it and that was to be able to run at the maximum of the performance and sustain it for 30- 40 mins. The greatest gain from a single mod was the tires and wheels; however you can’t just put these tires/ wheels on without the other mods. The whole package works together. And without the RB Brakes you cannot sustain the lap pace for more than 4-5 laps.
On the street I run everything as on the track with the exception of the Toyo and 9.5” wide AG wheels.

For all the track events that I have done at WGI (which is about 6 events and 18 days as some are 3 days affairs) I have never had any RDU issues.

Thx for the kind words.... Glad to share my experience.

My street set-up. I have 2.... one for between track events ( April thru Oct) and one for off track season (Nov-Mar). Although I do not drive this once the salt comes out.
This is my DD for most of the year, however I do have other vehicles so in 16 months I have 9000 miles. So I don't mind the stiffer ride and alignment, with low miles has minimal impact on my tire wear.
I drive it to the track in my track set up 75 miles.

Between track events (April-Oct) street set-up

No changes to alignment, suspension ride height etc.
No changes to the brakes RB with XC-40 pads as there is no need to change these for the street.
In the past I would swap out track/race pads and rotors for street pads (OE Pads) and the rotors that were bedded with street (OE) pads.
Swap out the Toyos and AG wheels for OE Forged Wheels and Cup2 (I need the 19" to clear the brakes).

Off track season (Nov- Mar) street set-up.

No changes to alignment, suspension ride height etc.
Put the back seat back in.
Swap out Front RB calipers and rotors for OE
Swap rear brake pads and rotors for OE
Using my 18"OZ wheels and Continentals (currently for sale).

That's it...

Moderators: I think this thread should be placed as a "sticky". One of the most informative and productive series of suspension mods offered to date!
