Alpine PDX-M6 amplifier, highly got it recommended.

I'll be pulling the focal's out of the ST and will put them in the RS. going to need some new hardware to deal with the different oem equipment but they sound awesome. Not sure what I'm going to do with the subs yet.

subwoofers are way,way overrated .... but hey if you like "feeling" music instead of good audiophile listening then enjoy - to each his own.

    YMMV,

    How to improve sound:

    (1) Replace OEM front plane speakers (rear speakers are not important as the front timbre and only add enhancement). Consider tri-axial front door speakers to enhance mid-range and lower range frequencies .. much better than sub-woofer)
    (2) Replace or add amplification
    (3) Look at adding sound deadening such as dynamat to the front and rear doors.
    (4) Look at replacing the head unit :downside - can remove Sync3 integration/nav integration/steering wheel redundant control.
    (5) Replace rear speakers
    (6) Replace sub-woofer . In normal listening the subwoofer is for very low frequencies , i.e. less than 100 Hz and does minimal to enhance the sound plane. It is sometimes mistakenly believed that by putting in a large, loud subwoofer that shakes your car and those in close proximity that you have added a super sound system to your car ... BIG Fallacy

You cn get great sound in a vehicle ... if that is your real goal.

In actuality, the Ford Sony system is above average compared to other cars. The subwoofer is not that strong, but in having a loud subwoofer is not the true sign of great sound!

YMMV let the good sound be heard! ,

I disagree. From a technical perspective there are frequencies that your 6.5" door speaker can't reproduce at a reasonable volume. The first time I added a sub there were several times I would be listening to a particular song and notice low frequency rhythms that literally didn't exist prior.

For the HT I do like to feel the sound. That's what the VTF-3 MK4 is for.

SPL vs SQ. You can have both, and it can involve a sub.

Our opinions are vastly different even in HT systems. Mine is Def Tech and SVS. And again I state the Subwoofer is way, way overrated. The frequencies you want to hear are the lower end between 1,000 HZ and 100 Hz which typically are not coming out of the subwoofer. Again, beginner audio listeners, crank up the subwoofer gain and think they have great sound. HA ! HA!

I guess will will just have to agree to disagree.

Just make sure its a quality sound system upgrade. I can't stand hearing those "upgraded" sound systems that do nothing but rattle your windows and body panels in bass to the point that they practically fall off.

Like putting in one or more huge amplified subwooofers; Internal sound ricing!

You know that the base frequency (open note) of each string on a 4 string bass guitar (E A D G) are all below 100 HZ right?
