My biggest complaints after driving them both back to back on a few consecutive days though, is the clutch and shifter in the Evo. The RS clutch and shifter feels like a 1970's dodge in comparison.

I don't HAVE to get rid of the Evo, but my wife is kinda demanding it now because she doesn't want to play car tetris anymore. =)
did you order all the shifter goodies from your little cnc shop? I'm amazed at how much better the shifting is.

Ha! I can identify with that. We got 5 drivers in the house, with 5 cars in the driveway, and one in the (packed) garage with a motorcycle...

At best, our driveway can handle 3 cars, but without some tetris, we could only use 2 at a time...

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I still have my gen1 MS3. Drive it at least once a week. Rolling 40-80 it feels faster than the RS, definitely provides a little more "thrill" in those few seconds. But I'm enjoying the refinement of the RS at high RPMs, and most definitely the handling at higher speeds. I might never sell the MS3

If I had the time or space to work on it...I could maybe make a case for it...but if I'm going to drive it 3-4 times a month, and no more, it's hard to make a case for it. I'm almost feeling selfish about it...just don't want anyone else to have it..heh..

I loved my Mustang but I had only done mufflers, intake, and tune on it. I never spent much time wrenching on it so I didn't feel as connected to it as some of my other cars.

I momentarily had my Subaru WRX for sale. Man I'm glad I didn't sell that thing. It's not that I have modified it all that much, since it's pretty much your standard "stage 2" with a few extras. But I have spent tons of time maintaining it, replacing all the brake components, the parking brake, rebuilding the front end, timing belt, etc. I have also driven it for 8 years, rally crossed it, taken it across the country twice, driven it on countless backroads and cruises. Not to mention it was my dream car when I bought it. Getting rid of that would have felt like getting rid of my first car (a 91 Integra) that again I had tons of wrench time on. That sucked to watch it drive away. It's hard to think of someone else driving a car that is so "yours."

I think the connection is from the fact that we put so much time, flesh and blood into our cars. I am proud of my cars and would only ever sell them if I had to. I buy cars for the long haul and if the Focus wasn't so good I would have never gotten rid of my Mustang. She was about to get a supercharger.

Edit: I forgot to mention. NICE CIVIC!! That thing is awesome!

Second edit: I get the selfish side as well. My Mustang is still on the lot waiting for the airbag recall, so it's a bit easier not seeing it on the road. I am sure I will see it around once it's sold, since this is such a small town. That will probably suck

He only lists cable bushings now. I probably need to get a new lever or lever piggyback for the lever as well shifter and base/transmission bushings and it will be much improved.
I still loathe the stock clutch feel in the RS though - has anyone made a modified quadrant or something to shorten the travel a bit? Id imagine the problem shortening the clutch is - how to you also make the brake pedal the same height?

I dont have quite that volume, but at one point I think had; A turbomustang, a classic Celica, a half ton chevy pickup, a mazda miata and the Evo in my carport/driveway - and just me and my wife as drivers. I think she is just desperate to make sure that never happens again.

I'm coming from a similar background except with a 1995 BMW 325is (E36) that I swapped the S52 motor into with a diffsonline LSD and a bunch of other goodies that essentially make it an M3 clone at this point. I poured so much time into working on that car that I decided I couldn't give it up...it's my baby. So now I just stored it away in the garage and am saving it for when I have the money and time to build it up to turn it into a track car.

If you want my opinion, I say keep it. It isn't worth the resale unless you're really strapped for cash
