Find a lightly traveled road, make SURE nobody is behind you, get up to 30 mph or so, then apply the brakes firmly. Do this two or three times. You don't need to engage ABS, just brake firmly to a stop. Is the noise gone? Same? Different?

I've had a rock land on top of the caliper on a previous car and it created a horrible noise. I drove on some bumpy roads and whatever it was (a rock, I think) dislodged and the car was quiet again.
The sound did not change when braking, only thing that changed the sound was the speed. Found the solution, see below

I am aware that brakes need to be broken in also, this was not typical breaking in sounds. This sounded like metal on metal grinding. What the solution ended up being was the shipping foam spring blocks! Another case of the dealer forgetting to take them out. As soon as I got them out the sound almost entirely went away, and by the time I was home it was gone. One of the blocks had shifted in the right front wheel and was wedged in there pretty good, so I think this was putting a non-normal pressure on the suspension there, causing something to grind slightly. The block on the end is the culprit one, makes sense when you see it's chewed up a little. Easy fix makes me happy! Thanks all for your help!

I believe Cobb offers an upgrade to the AP. Try giving their support a call.

The Verdict: Just got off the phone with them, and no can do. There is a "new product" out for the RS, and any "upgrading" of the existing AP would be more expensive than purchasing a new unit (per COBB Tuning Surgeline in Portland, OR).

That is odd as I swear I recall a thread on here somewhere that details an upgrade from Cobb that was around $200...I think you sent the unit in and they upgraded it and sent it back.

Yeah, I don't know? I asked specifically about upgrading and they said IF they could do that it wouldn't be cost effective to do so. /shrug
