Yeah the warranty consideration is up to each individual. For me I have had a series of cars tuned aftermarket over the past years and all done with reliability in mind, the last being a 2012 STI with the legendary "glass" pistons which was tuned for approx 60,000 km and never gave me one problem. So for me there was no real debate doing the same to the RS.

I have had no real issues with the performance of the RS, but the way it goes about delivering the power and torque did feel lack lustre sometimes. Whilst the Cobb OTS tune doesn't deliver huge power gains over stock, the way the car now drives is chalk and cheese compared to stock.

I suppose this is the point I am trying to make, even if the power and torque of the Cobb OTS tune where the same as stock, the OTS tune has just cleaned up the inconsistencies in the factory tune. Just the way it puts the power down and holds torque now high into the revs was enough for me to be sold and the first thoughts in my mind was, "now that's how it should be"

Actually the Rallysport Direct build thread has a good video review of the difference that can be felt with the Cobb OTS. Sort of sums up the same impression I got.

Sorry, but I wouldn't give up based on numbers. The final test is always on the track.

Perrin proved that the factory reflash removed 20whp on the 08 STi's. Very frustrating the feeling of being decieved, but with the RS several factors are involved. So far I would not be worried because a proper tune is the cure all. I saw one dyno estimate bhp to be 378 on one car then 348 on another.

Do a little drag race against the STi and see what happens. You actually have the ability to do that why not try it.

Simply telling like it is with my car. I get plenty of power coming out of first and second gear and the rear vision mirror never lies. Maybe there are differences between cars and I'm at 7,200km. Hot humid weather is not optimal for turbo cars, but failing that I don't feel or noitice any power deficiencies in driving amongst traffic. I'm also coming from a Focus ST which was limited in first and second, so maybe for me it's a progression aspect. LOL, I had to laugh at your caps comment - reminds me of the soup nazi epsode of Seinfeld.............

Bit of Aussie slang there. Basically means a big difference between two things, sort of similar to the orange and apples comparison quote.
