They should at least open the market for special edition STi's, not just Japan and UK only. Like the Cosworth WRX STI CS400, S206, Spec C, and many more. Also bringing in the Japan spec engine EJ207, for the different editions.
I would like to point out that the CS400 was made with EJ257, only 75 made for UK. Cosworth Impreza STi CS400 review | Autocar It was priced under $40k.

There are many things running through my head. This is unfathomable to say the least and I'm not sure how a company can do this. I do remember when the last WRX came out and received a huge engine upgrade, it was almost on par in terms of speed with the STI. That round of updates was hard enough to swallow but a few years later and it seems like Deja-vu. How do you keep enthusiasts and the cult following with the brand when you show no indication of bettering a HALO model where it needs it most?

I just don't get it or understand, it seems they think the EVO was their only competition. A lot of people that buy the STI I'm sure don't care a whole lot about being quieter let alone added weight with things like thicker glass and maintaining the same output. Power is one thing, but how about updating the weak points in the engine, you can't really argue you didn't have enough time. I also remember when the WRX was updated some PR person Subi stated the aftermarket is around for adding power, which is awesome and makes it easy if you buy a new STI to switch things over or be able to jump right in, but again, internally that engine could use some beefing up at least.

This is the difference between a brand that sells cars, and a brand that sells cars to enthusiasts, run by enthusiasts. The market has already shifted and competitors are 5 years ahead. "Treading water is the same as drowning, for people like you and me. Good luck, I'll be watching" FU

Ugh. Why even bother anymore? Those obnoxious gigantic fog lights on the early STis were the best part!

Few observations here. Subaru has never been able to correctly offset a wheel, they always look sunken in.

The plastic covers where the fogs should be look like they might have a little opening for brake cooling?

    Those brakes, OMG those brakes.

I really don't understand Subaru's design language these days, which is saying a lot, because I was a die hard STI guy during the GD and GR days.

Instead of brake and wheels upgrades, it'll now be a bumper upgrade. WTF were they thinking with that change?

Maybe they're throwing us all off until 2020 when they unleash hell?

And then we trade the current beast in for the Suby

Would have to be great for that though!
